Last Nautical Mile

Last Nautical Mile

The last "nautical" mile is the hardest mile.

Extreme conditions. Limited resources. Unlimited opportunity.

We build it with allied technology partnership.
The nation owns it.

Trusted technology, enabled by blended capital, empowering island and coastal nations.

Last Nautical Mile

Trusted technology foundations for island and coastal nations.

Breakwater ... Horizon ... No boundaries.
Next generation networks at the maritime frontier. LNM assembles the technology, secures funding, and delivers sovereign, resilient systems for demanding environments.

Mission

An independent integrator, and ecosystem enabler, with a vendor-neutral commitment to serving local communities.

Who pays for the study

Feasibility work is funded by development partners, at little or no cost to the host government.

Where the technology comes from

LNM works with bespoke consortia of trusted partners from allied markets, including the United States, Taiwan, Australia and Japan, to assemble integrated systems with one line of accountability.

Who owns the outcome

The host nation controls the final product. The infrastructure, the data it produces, and personnel trained to operate it, locally.

Last Nautical Mile, Inc. is a U.S. based systems integrator, platform investor and digital infrastructure developer, with Asia Pacific operations in Taipei. We originate, structure and operate the secure, resilient digital infrastructure that island and coastal nations need for modern governance and economic growth.

No single technology company can do this, because doing it means being trusted by a government and beholden to none of the vendors. We assemble bespoke consortia of trusted technology partners from allied markets, align local government and operators, secure development finance, and orchestrate multi-vendor delivery. Local ownership and capacity building are built into the contract, not added at the end.

Principles

The principles we design to are the principles we operate by.

They are not a statement of values written after the fact. They decide what we will build, who we will build it with, and what we hand over.

01

Secure

Trusted technology from allied markets, assembled so a government can see what is inside its own network and keep it that way.

02

Sovereign

The host nation holds the infrastructure, the data it produces and the capability to run both. Ownership is written into the contract, not promised around it.

03

Resilient

Built for distance, weather and isolation, and specified to keep working on the day the connection matters most.

Markets

Island and coastal nations, across oceans.

The conditions that make an integrated partner worth more than a single product prevail in maritime environments around the world.

Indo-Pacific

Connectivity, cyber resilience, oceanic-zone awareness and climate-resilient infrastructure across the Pacific islands.

Caribbean Basin

Digital government, financial services, cybersecurity and connectivity resilience across the Caribbean.

What these markets share

Limited domestic technology supply chains, strong development-finance relationships, sovereignty-preserving infrastructure demand, and relative neglect by vendors who chase larger markets.

Leadership

We bring decades of technology deployment, government relations and cross-border finance experience to bear.

Structured to be credible with sovereign clients, development finance funders and institutional investors at the same time.

Telecommunications and ICT

Careers spent building and running telecommunications and ICT operations across Asia, Europe and the Americas, covering network development, supplier management and large multi-vendor delivery.

Cross-border finance

Chief financial officer experience in international practice, with deep expertise in regional market entry and cross-border taxation across the Asia Pacific.

Government affairs and diplomacy

Former diplomatic service and trade policy work with multilateral institutions, alongside senior industry representation to allied governments.

Security and digital trust

Cybersecurity, cloud, data governance, AI and technical standards, developed across three decades of technology deployment.

Operations and strategy

General management at the intersection of policy and commerce, with a record of working through complex regulatory environments across Asia and the United States.

Program delivery

Diplomatic protocol, multi-stakeholder coordination and the operational discipline that keeps a funded program on schedule from first meeting to handover.
